The collaboration of a business corporation with social action groups in providing financial and other resources to support development programmers, particularly among communities, is known as corporate social responsibility.

Coca-Cola is an American company that produces soft drinks and citrus beverages. It is the most powerful brand among soft drinks brands. They sell their products almost in the whole world. Firstly, Coca-Cola was produced as a tonic by John S. Pemberton (1831–88), an Atlanta pharmacist in his chemical company. At the present time, the Net worth of Coca-Cola is $265 billion. Initially, the company was not well-known but today it has become a global brand. Also, they are selling various types of soft drinks in the market.

Nowadays almost every corporation is taking the responsibility to take care of society by providing some financial support and resources as well as they are taking some action to improve the environment. Coca-Cola also set some targets to develop the society such as educating and empowering workers, reducing waste, introducing new products that are health-friendly, reducing carbon emission, and saving water. According to them, the above-mentioned corporate social responsibilities are helping society to grow and have a positive impact on consumers.

Areas where they can Improve.

They can Improve their packaging system to reduce the use of plastics.

They can establish their own recycling plants to recycle the bottles and cans.

As they are a powerful brand, they can introduce fruits drinks that are beneficial for health.

They can develop recipes for their products that can consume less water.

Greenwashing

Although they claim that they are completing their social responsibilities but the truth behind this phenomenon is different. In actuality, they are hiding some damages to the environment and society behind the social responsibilities. Everyone has knowledge that the drinks they are serving in the market are unhealthy. Despite this, they promote their beverages. Coca-Cola is the world’s top plastic trash producer, as per the Petition. They are producing 2.9 million tons of plastic waste each year. It consumes about 200,000 plastic bottles per minute, accounting for about one-fifth of the world’s PET bottle production. This plastic is also made with fossil fuels, which results in large CO2 emissions.
