John Kotter tackles a fundamental issue confronting today’s company leader, how to react rapidly while remaining relevant in highly competitive situations. Kotter’s 8-Step Transformation Management Model is a method for assisting executives in implementing organizational change successfully.

Climate change is one of the most important challenges that we face in our day-to-day life. Immediate action is essential to reduce emissions and avoid the worst effects of the climate change. We can use Kotter’s Change Model to motivate people in our business or community to make changes that will help to reduce emissions that contribute to climate change. According to the notion, there are eight steps to successfully implementing change. The steps to take are to create urgency, to build a strong guiding team, to develop a vision as well as a strategy, to enable individuals to move out the vision, to start generating short-term victories, to consolidate gains and begin to produce more change, and to embed innovative methods in the culture.

Thus, Kotter’s Change Model can assist our company or community in lowering greenhouse gas emissions. There are eight stages to successfully enacting change. The steps in the process of bringing about change include establishing new approaches in the culture, developing a successful coalition, formulating an overarching goal, communicating that vision, and giving employees the authority to carry it out.
