In this scenario, I have been confided with an important information by my company’s president about the chances of merger of marketing department with the company called B. I was explicitly told by my president not to share this information with anyone else in the company. However, when I was asked by my friend Grigory about the same, I was left with a huge dilemma where my loyalty is being tested and it will be determined whether my loyalty stands with my company or my friends and fellow workers.

With the analysation of ethical decision-making framework, I have one possible solution that I will tell Grigory I have also heard about the rumour and I would suggest him to hold the deal so that in future he does not have to Face any consequences if he lost his job. According to utilitarian approach, this solution will provide best to all the parties. Moreover, the merger may or may not happen so, talking about it to everyone may create a chaos and many employees could leave the job which would adversely affect the company and the marketing team.

Many times, in our lives we have to take some difficult decisions and make some hard choices which could impact our personal and professional lives. Study of ethical decision-making framework could lend us a helping hand while making those choices. The ethical theories and approaches would lead us to act as a person we want to be and take rational decisions, so that no one would stand to lose as an effect of our choices.
