Every student must know about Academic Ethics. But what does Academic Ethics mean? Based on the article that I’ve read Academic Ethics requires students to be responsible, honest all the time, fair, respectful, and avoiding copying the work of other people. It reminds students that every output, works or activity that they do must be their own answer. They must not copy, plagiarize, or make others do their work. I believe that it is the obligations of each student to be responsible in doing their own assignments or activities. Even though no one is watching, we students must always be honest and fair enough to do our own work. This is what we called integrity. By doing our own work, it will really help us to learn. If we will ask for others to do it on our behalf, we will not really learn because we will be dependent to the person who’s doing our work. These traits reflect on students’ character. I strongly believe that practicing these Academic Ethics will help improve the academic performance of each students. They will know what to do and this will benefit both teachers and students.
