Emily is an intern who has been working for the past three months in the boutique accounting and financial management firm,Where I am the auditor of the company.
Emily is a needy Intern and also so dependent to me but also not a bad intern as well. Everything she’s doing has to be explained and she cannot be seems to do anything by herself.Sometimes things have to be explained to her two or more times.
Emily has been applying for jobs since she is getting graduated this month and now she’s asking me whether it’s possible to put my name For her reference in her job application. This scenario is a conundrum .

When’s solving out of conundrum,First of all my response to her should be remarkably canid regarding the evaluation of the job performance during her intern in our company.I will point out all the things that have to be improved and will also give her some advice and motivation that will be needed to the growth in her job pathways and to gain strength to overcome the barriers and when Emily accept her flaws and the advice I given to her and shows the willingness to be improved and to be better I will allow her to include my name in the references as she deserves to get a chance.Secondly I will professionally inform since I haven’t seen the growth of you in your internship and therefore you won’t be able to include my name in your references because I think there’s a lot to be improved and you’re not ready for a job yet and when she gets improved and get more confident with work then I will be welcoming with my open hands. Thirdly I will inform that I allow to put my name in the reference after you show me that you do not depend anymore at work here with me and you work independently. Lastly I will inform her in a polite manner that I won’t be able to recommend you if you put me on references as long as you are not an independent person and you are too needy and that will not help you to be ready to do a job.

In a situation like this a framework of ethical decision making will be guiding on how to respond in dilemmas such as this situation. Gaining perspective by trying to understand the situation and it will help to form a response particularly if there is an ethical way to achieve the same goal and also by having a conversation is one of the best way to manage the situation like this and it will provide the person to explain his or her actions on how to correct his or her issues first through this ethical framework of decision making gains knowledge on handle or manage any situation that might arise in the future by analyzing and evaluating ethical dilemmas and framework of decision making will me recognize the process and the Action of mine is right or wrong before making a decision.

This situation could be prevented if I could make Emily independent in her duration of her intern and making her less dependent on me and pointing out the things that should be improved on her and giving some advice to be better on her internship period other than saying it in the evaluation.
