In this scenario, I have faced a workplace ethical dilemma as a manager in my company. The excellent track reward for success has been achieved by the marketing department in the last month within my enterprise. I have been proud of the ways my branch has grown and the quantity of reputation my team workers were getting. Moreover, the president of my enterprise wants to merge with company B because it is helpful to create a subsidiary in advertising and public relations, merging with company B will provide the resources to grow. However, the president asked me to keep everything secret because he is not sure about the merging. It is very difficult for me to decide that should I reveal this information to employees or not?

Firstly, I feel that I should not reveal the secret to anyone owing to it will affect the reputation and market value of my company. Competitors of my company can get benefit from this information and they can also try to merge with company B to increase their sales and growth in the market. In addition, All employee can lose their jobs and have to seek work anywhere else because the president warned me. Therefore, I will keep everything secret so that it doesn’t affect the jobs of employees and the goodwill of my company.

Secondly, I can request the president to reveal all information regarding merging with company B by himself with workers because they have the right to know about the organizational activities. If the president reveals this secret, I can ask employees to not reveal it to any other person and to protect the company’s confidential information because it is good ethical behavior. The least solution is that I can share this secret with my friends and workers, which I think is not a code of business and ethics.

In conclusion, I will keep it secret because it is the confidential information of my company business ethics tell us to protect our organizational data and workers can lose their job if they share this information with anyone that’s why I don’t want to share this secret according to Code of business conduct and ethics.
