In this scenario marketing department of my company shows excellent performance and recently won awards for success. I am Manager of the company and President gave me option that he has been in discussion with Company B to merge with my company marketing department which serve a boon to my company for future growth. But here the Workplace Ethical Dilemma is that President asked me to keep it secret because he is not sure about the merging. So, in this scenario the dilemma is that can I keep it a secret or can I revel it? This is a very challenging and complicated situation for me .

As a manager this is my foremost duty that there should be transport communication with my employees about the big decision of the company. This is my responsibility to share this information with my employees because they have faith on the company. Even my friend Gregory ask me about the issue and I was surprised about how he knows that? So, this is a very challenging issue for me as if I don’t revel this truth than rumors of this issue cause bad impact on my position and also on the reputation of the company.

In order to solve this issue, I have a most ethical solution that I discuss with the president again about the confirmation of the merging of the company and then I revel the discussion result with my company employees about the merging of the company because they all have rights to know about this as there is a financial responsibility on their shoulder for their families and also merging results in lost of jobs of some employees. I choose this decision after analyses the situation from different angles and as a manager I do not want to mix the complex, big decision and emotions (Petty, 2020). Least ethical solution is that I don’t reveal this situation with anyone and I just thinking about my own profit. But I do not want to go with that option because as a manager I don’t want to ignore employee’s career just for my profit.

To conclude, I go with the most ethical solution which is that I revel the truth of company’s decision about merging with another company B with my company employees as I realize that this is the most ethical decision according to the dignity of my post.
