We discussed on the the topic of labor shortage in book club sessions and everyone present their views about it. During the pandemic lots of people lost their jobs and qualified candidates remain unemployed. Pandemic changed the lifestyle and thinking of people about the work.

Most of the economists believed that changing the demographics trends result as a shortages. This is happening due to supply chain disruption. As we know during the pandemic workers cannot go outside for their work and it leads to labor shortage as well. So, i am going to discuss some ways in order to overcome the problem of labor shortage.

Automation can overcome the problem of labor shortage by providing various facilities. If managers provide automated technology so they can better utilize their staff because employees do not need to do extra tasks. After the pandemic everything is changed so it is important to take a fresh look across the workplace. I like the concept of four day work from one of the reading so i think by doing this people can save money . Firstly it will helps to reduced costs and employers can enjoy on weekends with families. apart from that employees can make a balance between personal life and professional one. Instead of this managers should set flexible hours for employees so that they can work more effectively without feeling tired and monotonous. Companies can take more benefits because four day work week helps to increase productivity . Apart from that it is also the responsibility of government to find new ways in order to deal with any type of infections and pandemic. Government should create new job opportunities and provide support to individual workers. Most of the countries already prepared to take appropriate actions to secure jobs. theses actions are including implementing wage subsidies and supporting work from home with the help of tax incentives.
